METABYTE

Cookie Policy

Updated: July 23, 2026

mtbyte.io uses cookies and similar technologies (localStorage). This page explains which and why.

1. What are cookies

Cookies — small files the site stores in your browser. localStorage works similarly, but isn't sent to the server on every request.

2. Cookie categories on our site

Necessary (cannot be disabled):

  • locale — interface language (ru/ro/en), up to 1 year
  • user-country — country code for initial language selection, when available, up to 1 year
  • metabyte_cookie_consent (localStorage) — category choices, until you change them

Functional (with consent):

  • No separate functional storage is currently in use

Analytics (only with consent, first-party):

  • metabyte_visitor_id (localStorage) — pseudonymous identifier, up to 1 year; removed when analytics is declined
  • Page views, visit duration, and scroll depth — up to 12 months

Marketing: NONE. We do not use third-party trackers, Google Analytics, or Facebook Pixel.

3. Third-party cookies

The site does NOT embed third-party trackers. When images load from pexels.com, their CDN may set a technical cookie — that's not on our domain.

4. Managing consent

On first visit you can choose “Accept all”, “Necessary only”, or “Customize”. Analytics does not start before consent. You can change the choice anytime through “Cookie settings” in the footer.

5. Disabling in browser

Most browsers let you manage cookies in settings. Disabling necessary cookies may affect language and consent-preference storage.
