Vibe Coding and Agentic Engineering: The Line Blurs

Simon Willison, a well-known figure in the tech community, recently shared a thought-provoking observation: the boundary between "vibe coding" (where a developer sets the direction and AI writes the code) and agentic engineering (where AI plans and executes tasks autonomously) is getting dangerously thin.

On the bright side, AI is getting better at understanding context, hallucinating less, and handling complex conversations. But the risk is real: developers might lose control over architecture and project logic. Willison notes that many already treat AI not as a tool, but as a "junior colleague" to whom they delegate entire modules.
