The US government has unveiled UFO Release 1 — a system for registering and declassifying encounters with Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP). And no, this isn't a joke about Men in Black. Now any government employee or pilot can submit a report via a web interface that apparently works faster than JIRA after a sprint.
The system promises automatic declassification after a certain period — something like "if no one confirms it was a drone within 90 days, the report goes public." Sounds like a dream for IT enthusiasts who want to see raw UFO data, not just Area 51 memes.
For devs: the architecture is microservices-based, and the code is probably in Go — to handle the load when aliens decide to DDoS the servers. The big question: will there be an API for integration? Imagine your Telegram bot auto-submitting a report upon detecting a glowing orb.
Currently only for government employees, but future plans include public access. Then the number of bugs in reports will surely exceed the number of actual UFOs.
