They Live (1988) inspired Adblocker now on GitHub

Remember that scene in "They Live" where the protagonist puts on sunglasses and sees the world without advertising masks? Now you can do that in your browser — minus the alley fight.

Developer davmlaw has released a GitHub extension that works on the same principle: it scans the page and hides anything that looks like an ad. But the cool part isn't just the blocking — by default, the site goes black-and-white to emphasize the "naked" content. Want colors back? Just click the icon.

Of course, this isn't the first adblocker ever. But the visual twist is a neat way to remind us how much ads we're surrounded by. Developers tired of banners on Stack Overflow will especially appreciate it. Though, on some sites, the grayscale mode might break the layout — but hey, that's part of the experiment, right?
