Tesla Model Y Passes NHTSA's New ADAS Tests – First to Get a Report Card

Remember when your teacher announced a new grading system? That's exactly what NHTSA did with its updated tests for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). And the first car to brave this new gauntlet was the Tesla Model Y. It passed, but not without some eyebrow raises.

The new tests give ADAS systems an official rating – think of it as safety stars for autopilots. Tesla got a green light, but experts caution it's not a license to nap behind the wheel. As the saying goes, "autopilot is not a pilot, just a co-pilot with limited coffee breaks."

For developers, this is a perfect reminder of your CI/CD pipelines: as long as tests pass, production can stay untouched. Tesla, however, might need to tweak its neural driver to meet the new standards. Bottom line: automation is awesome, but even Elon's code has bugs.
