Claude for Small Business: The AI Assistant That Doesn't Take Sick Days

While startups are busy chasing the next JavaScript framework for their side projects, Anthropic decided to remind us that AI can actually be useful. They've launched Claude for Small Business — a version of their language model tailored for small companies. Now cafe owners, online shops, and dev studios can hire a virtual assistant that won't ask for a promotion or go on maternity leave.

Essentially, it's the same Claude but with pre-built templates for common tasks: writing emails, generating social media content, analyzing reviews, answering FAQs. The developers promise the model understands small business context and won't suggest "implementing microservices" when all you need is a price list.

What's really nice — you don't need to hire a prompt engineer. The interface is friendly: pick a task from the list, input your data, get results. Like assembling IKEA furniture, but without extra screws. Though if you ask Claude to write an Instagram post, it might accidentally throw in some API specs — but that's fixable with a simple "make it simpler".

For developers consulting small businesses, this is a great opportunity to pitch Claude integration instead of yet another "unique neural network chatbot". Less hype, more value.

METABYTE studio comment: If your bakery client asks for "a website with AI", now you can just hook up Claude and call it "a neural network for baking buns". Just don't forget the API keys.
