Professors either turn a blind eye or automate their grading. The result? Degrees awarded to people who can't string two sentences together without AI's help.

But here's a glimmer of hope: some institutions are fighting back with oral exams and real-time project defenses. As long as AI can't convincingly lie on the fly (yet), education has a fighting chance. Though given the pace of progress, that window might close faster than a deadline on a JIRA board with 47 columns.
